Description

Medical laboratory technicians play a vital role in the effective diagnosis and treatment of patients. You will collect samples and perform tests to support doctors and other medical professionals as they detect diseases and treat patients. As a medical laboratory technician, you will work under the supervision of a physician, laboratory technologist or laboratory scientist.

Training Objectives

This course will provide you with the technical capacity to:

  • Handle and maintain various laboratory equipment.
  • Carry out various clinical laboratory tests under laid down procedures.
  • Keep record and write report among other things.

Admission Requirement

Five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in either:

  • Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE).
  • National Examination Commission (NECO).
  • General Certificate of Education (GCE).
  • Candidates wishing to undergo this course must possess credits in English, Mathematics, Biulogy, Chemistry and Physics, at not more than two (2) sittings.
  • Duration: The Course duration is three (3) years.
